Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation enhances or enlarges the size of the breasts
using implants. Since the beginning of breast augmentation surgery
in the early 60’s, millions of women have enhanced their bodies
with silicone and saline breast implants. Breast Augmentation has
become one of the most commonly performed procedures in plastic
surgery.
Women who choose to have breast augmentation do so to improve their
self-esteem and body image. Many patients are simply trying to increase
their breast size to conform better to their body, while others
may want to balance their breasts if they appear uneven. Often women
want this procedure to restore their natural breast volume that
may have decreased due to pregnancy, weight loss or aging.

Breast Lift
Breast-lift or Mastopexy firms and tightens the breast. It raises
the nipple on the profile of the breast and is often done in conjunction
with breast implants. Over the year’s factors such as pregnancy,
breast-feeding a baby, and the forces of gravity take their toll
on a woman’s breasts. As the skin loses its elasticity, the
breasts often lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag. Breast-
lift or, Mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape
sagging breasts. Mastopexy can also reduce the size of the areola,
the darker skin surrounding the nipple. If an implant is inserted
at the time of the lift, a silicone gel implant is typically used.
The silicone implant is lighter and does not put as much pressure
and strain on the breast tissue. Although no surgery can permanently
delay all the effects of gravity, a breast-lift is a very rewarding
and satisfying surgery to perform. Patients are so thrilled to be
able to find clothes that fit well and not to be constrained by
having to wear a bra at all times.

Breast Reduction
Breast reduction or reduction mammoplasty makes the breast smaller.
While you can sometimes reduce the size of the breast with liposuction
most of the time more expansive surgery is necessary. Excessive
breast enlargement (mammary hypertrophy) causes a number of medical
and social problems including back and neck pain, poor posture,
difficulty participating in recreational activities, finding clothes
that fit well, social embarrassment and even times harassment.
Breast reduction surgery is designed to make large breasts smaller,
lighter, symmetrical and more proportionate to the rest of a woman’s
body. In most cases the areola, the darker skin surrounding the
nipple is reduced. The nipple is elevated to a more normal position.
The scars on the breasts are carefully placed so that they are relatively
inconspicuous. These incisions fade after time and are typically
hidden by a bra or swimwear.
