Approximately two weeks prior to your scheduled surgery Dr. Elam and the pre-operative consultant spend approximately an hour reviewing the procedures and making sure that all of your questions are answered (for patients out of state and country this process will be done prior to your surgical date.) At this time each patient is given the pre and post-operative protocol designed by Dr. Elam to achieve optimum healing and a quick and comfortable recovery. All patients will undergo appropriate laboratory testing, which Dr. Elam and Dr. Schwab your anesthesiologist review. Prescriptions, surgical soap, vitamins etc. will be given to the patient at this time. This appointment is to set your mind at ease so that you may relax knowing you will be prepared and well taken care of for your upcoming surgery.
